Introducing: The Nicole Richie Collection

I could not be more excited to report that on February 24 at 9 PM EST, Nicole Richie will launch The Nicole Richie Collection exclusively for QVC!  I’m a huge fan of Rachel Zoe’s QVC collection, and I really admire Nicole Richie’s lines House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate.  I can’t wait to get my hands on some affordable Nicole Richie designs.  “We all want to feel relaxed on the inside but stylish on the outside,” the 30-year-old mother of two told Women’s Wear Daily.  Amen Nicole!  The Nicole Richie Collection will consist of blouses, skirts, maxi dresses and bags with Richie’s signature boho style, ranging in price from $75-257.  I’m really loving the kimono style blouses and the plum-colored handbag.

What do you think?  Will you tune in to check out The Nicole Richie Collection on QVC?

How I Wore It: Jason Wu for Target Scarf

It’s been drizzly and warm here in Texas-very much like what I would imagine a Spring evening in Paris would feel like.  So I decided to wear my Jason Wu for Target Milu Scarf and run with the literal translation of the designer’s intended “American Girl in Paris” look for the collection.  Here is how I wore it.

How I Wore It-Jason Wu for Target Scarf

The jeans are Seven for All Mankind Highwaist Bootcuts, the loafers are snake print from Old Navy, the top is from Stylemint, the watch is MICHAEL Michael Kors (not exact but similar to mine,) the earrings are Stella & Dot and the handbag is Rebecca Minkoff.

OKAY OKAY I LIED-my MAB bag is brown, and not black.  But in a perfect outfit world it would have been black.  I tend to not change by bag on a day to day basis anyways, so that’s the truth.

So there you have it!  That’s how I wore it.  How would you style the Milu Scarf?

doo.ri available today at Macy’s

The doo.ri for Impulse collection hits Macy’s stores today, and it does not disappoint!  Hot on the heels of Jason Wu for Target, American designer Doo-Ri Chung has given us an affordable taste of her signature draping and feminine aesthetic with her collection for Impulse.  Here are a few of my favorite looks from the collection:

Tulip Wrap Faux Leather Zipper Skirt, $55
Sleeveless Scoop Neck Basket Weave Knit Racerback Tank, $49

Sleeveless V Neck Bowtie Draped Ruffled Rouched Wrap Dress, $85

Scoop Neck Short Sleeve Asymmetrical Hem Top, $45

Faux Leather Long Sleeve Zipper Pocket
Mesh Collar Motorcycle Jacket, $149

The collection is sexy and feminine, but in a cool-girl, I’m not trying too hard kind of way.  And I love that there are pieces for day and night, work and weekend.  Shop the collection in stores today or on Macy’s website, but hurry before it sells out!

Happy NYFW!

Today kicks off New York Fashion Week, Fall 2012!  I always feel a little buzz in the air during Fashion Week, even though I’m hundreds of miles away from the excitement.  Thanks to the internet, we can follow fashion insiders on Twitter and facebook and even watch the shows live on Youtube.  In fact, I’m watching BCBG Max Azria as I type!  Gone are the days when you need a plane ticket and your name on a VIP list to get a front row seat at Fashion Week!  Check out to watch live shows and to watch shows you missed.  I’m most excited to see Rebecca Minkoff, Charlotte Ronson, Tibi, Diane von Furstenberg and Badgley Mischka!  Not to mention all of the fabulous street style of attendees and models-off-duty.  Which shows will you be watching?

Alberta Ferretti to Design for Macy’s

Joining the ranks designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Giambattista Valli, Alberta Ferretti is the latest designer to strike a deal with Macy’s to create a collection for their Impulse line.  Inspired by the Amalfi Coast and with prices ranging from $49-119, the Italian designer’s capsule collection will hit stores April 17.  Hopefully we will see some of Ferretti’s signature draping and twisting in the 30 piece collection.  “The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style,” said Ferretti.  Check out these preview sketches below.

This news comes right on the heels of the announcement that Doo.Ri will launch a collection for Impulse as well.  The Doo.Ri collection will be available in Macy’s stores February 15.

Sneak Peek: Marni for H&M

Here’s our first look at the highly anticipated Marni for H&M collection.  This image from the ad campaign appeared on the internet over the weekend, which stars fashionable actress Imogen Poots.

Pretty fabulous, right?  This looks perfectly suits the pajamas-as-outwear trend that is so hot right now.  I could definitely see singer Florence Welch rocking this outfit head to toe.  If it were me, I would probably pair the top with some black carrot trousers.

Florence Welch showing us that pajamas ain’t just for the boudoir in Kenzo Fall 2011.

The look isn’t for everyone, but hey, you gotta give her some credit for going for it!

I look forward to seeing what else Marni for H&M will reveal.  The collection hits store March 8.

Is there any name in fashion more recognizable than Karl Lagerfeld?  Designer for Chanel and Fendi, he’s practically the patron saint of fashion.  Now you can own a Lagerfeld design without forking out tons of cash for the interlocking C’s.  Available exclusively on Net-A-Porter, check out his brand new lower priced line KARL.  Mostly neutral in color but focusing on textures like leather, sequins and metallics, KARL definitely has the signature lady-with-an-edge Lagerfeld touch.  Here are the pieces I’m obsessed with:

Sequin Poplin Collar, $175

Safa Metallic Leather Skirt, $445

Sabine Sequin Shorts, $270

Jane Layered Twill Tuxedo Jacket, $270

And of course, Cutaway Leather Glove, a Lagerfeld signature, $65
The collection also includes shoes and handbags.  I’m really loving the dresses too.  Grab your favorite KARL pieces on Net-A-Porter before they’re gone!

Nanette Lepore to design for jcpenney

It was announced yesterday that American fashion designer Nanette Lepore will create a line exclusively for jcpenney.  The teen-focused line, “l’amour nanette lepore”, will be merchandised in a “store within a store” environment, which is becoming increasingly popular with large retailers looking to add a luxury feel to their stores.  While the line, inspired by Lepore’s own teenage daughter, will be aimed for girls aged 13-20, don’t think that won’t stop me from getting in line.  I love the girly and feminine look of Nanette Lepore, which still manages to look sophisticated.  I’m hoping to see this aesthetic translated to the jcpenney collection.
Here are some of my favorite looks from Nanette Lepore’s Spring 2012 Ready to Wear Collection.

Nanette Lepore and her daughter, Violet.

The collection is set to launch February 2013, but I think it will be well worth the wait, don’t you?
